Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival 2023

The ninth edition of ASFF returns with a program featuring 8 screenings of Spanish films, highlighting mainstream Spanish cinema and a reflection on the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as paying tribute to Carlos Saura.

The Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival (ASFF) returns with a program that begins with the Dutch premiere of Alberto Rodríguez Librero’s film Modelo 77 and the presence of lead actor Miguel Herrán at the Tuschinski Theater. During the weekend of November 24-26, the festival screens 8 films at three different venues in Amsterdam.

Established and curated by Sin Fin Cinema since 2012, ASFF presents the latest trends in mainstream Spanish cinema. In its ninth edition, the festival presents outstanding Spanish films of the year —such as La Maternal by Pilar Palomero, Creatura by Elena Martín, 20,000 species of bees by Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren, Matar cangrejos by Omar A. Razzak and En los márgenes by Juan Diego Botto— and aims to be a platform for reflection on the representations of the LGBTQIA+ collective. It also honors the legacy of Carlos Saura, an iconic figure in Spanish cinema who died in 2023.
