Flamenco Rotterdam 2024

This event is a prelude to the “Rotterdam Flamenco Festival 2025” and will include music, gastronomy and dance activities, with performances by Irene Álvarez, Carmen Fernández and Vicente Santiago.

The program includes a 1.5 hour presentation by flamenco students, followed by an hour of Sevillanas dancing and a closing concert by a professional flamenco company. Featured performances will be by flamenco singer Carmen Fernandez, flamenco dancer Irene Alvarez and guitarist Vicente Santiago. There will also be Mediterranean food provided by the Rainarai restaurant.

Marta Gonzalez, the new organizer of the festival, has lived in the Netherlands for ten years and decided to revive the Flamenco Festival to share Spanish culture. Despite its reduced format, this event is expected to attract audiences and serve as a preview of the 2025 festival. The organization’s goal is to showcase flamenco in its most authentic and high quality form, providing a platform for renowned and emerging flamenco artists. The event aims to enrich the audience experience and contribute to the knowledge and appreciation of this genre in the Dutch community.
