Science ÑL 2024

Under the slogan “Science as a Bridge,” scientists from Spain and the Netherlands will gather at this inaugural congress to explore key areas, including biomedicine, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and renewable energy.
This event, organized by the Network of Associations of Spanish Researchers and Scientists Abroad (RAICEX), will take place at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and is sponsored by the Ramón Areces Foundation. Its main goal is to promote scientific cooperation between Spain and the Netherlands, highlighting the importance of international networks in addressing global challenges.
The inauguration will feature prominent attendees, including Prof. Dr. Marileen Dogterom, president of KNAW; Dña. Consuelo Femenía, the Spanish Ambassador to the Netherlands; and Mr. Rodrigo García Valiente, president of the Association of Spanish Scientists in the Netherlands (CENL-SWNL) and RAICEX.
During the congress, scientists from both countries will discuss critical topics in advanced medicine, digital transformation, climate change, and clean energy. The event will include round tables, conferences, and networking activities to facilitate idea exchange and foster collaboration among academia, business, and public institutions. Additionally, it will emphasize the essential role of science in connecting cultures and addressing global challenges. This congress will serve as a platform to strengthen ties between researchers and enhance cooperation networks between Spain and the Netherlands.
