Carmen Dusmet Carrasco at This Art Fair 2025

The Embassy of Spain in the Netherlands supports the participation of Spanish artist Carmen Dusmet Carrasco in the 2025 edition of “This Art Fair”, where she will present her video installation “Ear Twist.”
During the fair, Dusmet Carrasco will present Ear Twist (2024), a two-channel video installation exploring mental health, identity, and intergenerational trauma. Combining film, sound, and scriptwriting, the artist creates narratives blending autobiography and fiction. The work focuses on women’s psychological experiences and the persistent stigmas surrounding their mental health in Western culture.
Dusmet Carrasco
Trained in psychology, Dusmet Carrasco employs narrative devices inspired by therapeutic methods, such as scene recreation and scripted dialogue. Ear Twist invites the audience to reflect on how trauma manifests, evolves, and where we draw the line between illness and health —if such a line truly exists.
Carmen Dusmet Carrasco’s work has been exhibited at Prospects Art Rotterdam, Trixie (The Hague), Cas-co (Leuven), Het Hem (Amsterdam), The Grey Space in the Middle (The Hague), and screened at Filmhuis Den Haag, Rialto Ámsterdam, The Hague Film Festival, OJO Film Festival (Peru), Multicultural Film Festival (Toronto), Ficnova Biennial (Spain) and Empatheater (Copenhagen).
This Art Fair
This Art Fair is characterized by offering individual artists the opportunity to present and sell their work independently, outside the traditional gallery model. Through its parallel program This Works also provides professional support through workshops, master classes and networking meetings.
